Abstract

We prove that the heats of transfer of a mixture of solvents can be expressed by their partial molar entropies. The expression is derived using entropy production invariance and equivalent expressions for the heat flux through the mixture. The result may be useful in the modeling of thermoelectric effects in e.g. the Li-ion battery or in the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell. Large effects can be predicted. This mends a situation where few data are available.
