Professor Peter Daivis, Department of Physics at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia, visited PoreLab on September 30 – October 4, 2019. Professor Daivis is an expert on molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, condensed matter physics, and physical chemistry. During his stay he contributed through individual or small group discussions with 10 of our researchers, especially on the topic of how to compute pressure and heat flux in heterogeneous systems by MD simulations. He gave a seminar with the title «Anisotropic heat flow in shearing fluids by molecular dynamics simulations» and participated in the one-day workshop “Workshop on Molecular Simulation and Small System Thermodynamics” with the group of Thijs Vlugt from TU Delft, The Netherlands.
