Welcome to Hursanay!

Hursanay Fyhn started her PhD on August 10th, 2020 at PoreLab NTNU. Hursanay holds a master of science in Physics and Mathematics from NTNU. Her project is organised under the WP1 (Thermodynamics of flow in porous media). The aim of her PhD is to develop the theoretical framework that describes immiscible two-phase flow in porous media. More specifically, the focus is on viscous fingers that occur when a non-wetting fluid pushes a more viscous wetting fluid during a drainage process. The task is carried out through solving constitutive equations and comparing them with the results from numerical dynamic network model and experiments. Hursanay’s supervisor is Professor Alex Hansen for the department of Physics at NTNU, and her co-supervisor is Professor Knut Jørgen Måløy from the department of Physics at the University of Oslo.

Welcome Hursanay!
